Maghera beach is located approx 6 miles from Ardara

Situated in South-West Donegal, Republic of Ireland, one of the most scenic areas in Ireland, a county with miles of unpolluted coastlines and beaches, lies Maghera beach.   Prestine white sandy beach, with clean atlantic water, natural sea-erosion caves lie beneath majestic mountains that hide an ancient castle.    

 Maghera is located approx. 6 miles from Ardara (nearest town), and approx. 25 miles from Donegal Town - see map below for directions:

You can minimise your journey when travelling here by flying directly to Co. Donegal via Carrickfin Airport, or alternatively by using airports at Shannon, Dublin, or by Belfast, then arranging car hire from there.   The beach receives many visitors from mainland Europe, as well as America, etc.

Hotel and Bed and Breakfast accommodation are available in Ardara, Killybegs, Glencolmcille and surrounding areas.  Traditional Irish music is to be found locally, in Ardara, Meenaneery and Glencolmcille.  Leisure activities to be found in the area include golf , horse riding, hill walking clubs, various nightclubs, etc.  Get into the Irish culture - see some Gaelic Football while you're in town.
